Abstract:

Section 2. 0 of this report contains a description of analysis methods for the containment structure. Testing on containment models and sections of containments is described. Section 3. 0 contains a description of liner behavior. Methods for liner analyses and properties of liner materials and weldments are discussed. The potential leakage or failure of containment penetrations is described in Section 4. 0. The need for results from the ongoing research efforts is discussed. In Section 5. 0 the way in which containment capability fits into the overall PRA framework is addressed. In this report we have addressed what we perceive to be the most important aspects of containment capability. Not all problems are discussed. Also, because of the wide variation of containment designs, some containment features are of necessity omitted.
