Abstract:

Speaking of cold region construction, it is natural to think only of the arctic, however, this is completely erroneous. Throughout North America there are various types of cold region construction and it would be totally impossible to address all of them. The state of Alaska encompasses a large majority of these conditions and the author would, therefore, like to address himself to these conditions in Alaska, which in turn will include most cold region conditions prevailing in other parts of the continent.
