Abstract: A former brownfield site in Austin, Texas, has been converted into a mixed-use, sustainable neighborhood—known as an EcoDistrict—that focuses on renewable and innovative energy systems, water conservation and reuse, increased mobility options, and the creation of a new, environmentally sensitive community. Key features of the project include a new public library, a renovated former power plant, a restored waterway, and new bridges and trails, among other amenities.
