This Commentary is not a part of the ASCE Standard. It is included for informational purposes only. This information is provided as explanatory and supplementary material designed to assist in applying the recommended requirements. The sections of this Commentary are numbered to correspond to the sections of the Standard to which they refer. Since it is not necessary to have supplementary material for every section in the Standard, there are gaps in the numbering sequence of the Commentary.
