Abstract:

Using amino acid racemization data measured on carbonate eolianite sediments, we assess the ability of amino acid geochronology to distringuish among several stratigraphic units on San Salvador Island, Bahamas. Amino acid geochronology has been used previously on this island and on other carbonate islands in the region to address questions regarding the ages and stratigraphic correlations of sedimentary units, but the resolution of the method remains controversial.
