Abstract:

The purpose of this Manual of Professional Practice for Civil Engineers is to acquaint the client with the Code of Ethics of the professional engineer, the proper approach in obtaining professional services, and the several methods of remuneration for professional services; to indicate a median basis of establishing fees; to provide the information necessary to safeguard the interest of the client and the engineer, and indicate methods by which the client and the engineer can reach a mutually satisfactory contractual arrangement; and to indicate to the client the value and importance to him/her of ethical professional engineering services. This manual will be of interest to both engineers and clients.
