Abstract:

Hydrology Handbook presents extensive information about the hydrologic cycle and engineering responses to it. The handbook is presented as a series of five chapters, each covering a phase of the hydrologic cycleprecipitation, infiltration, runoff, evaporation and transpiration, and ground water storage. In order to broaden the base of experience to be reflected in the handbook, each chapter has been prepared by a subcommittee comprised of society members whose experience and background are identified with the phases of the hydrologic cycle represented by the respective chapters. This manual will be of interest to both practitioners and researchers working with hydrology or studying the effects of the hydrologic cycle.

Subject Headings: Hydrology | Hydrologic engineering | Water storage | Waste storage | Transpiration | Runoff | Infiltration
