Abstract:

After several conferences were held to try to unify sewerage and sewage disposal practice terminology in 1926, there remained considerable differences of opinion. In the fall of 1926, definitions in alternate of approximately 70 terms were sent to about 100 sanitary engineers, 35 of whom replied, giving definite expressions of opinion. Definitions of Terms used in Sewerage and Sewage Disposal Practice harmonizes these differences in technical opinions, compiling a wide range of vocabulary into a useful, concise list. This document would be useful to engineers in the field of sewerage and sewage disposal.
