Abstract:

For many months there has been doubt that the latest version of ASCE Manuals and Reports on Engineering Practice No. 74. Guidelines for Electrical Transmission Line Structural Loading, would be available for the 2002 Conference. All technical issues have long since been resolved but the rapidly changing utility industry has produced administrative changes and work demands that have prevented the pulling together of the final steps to issuance of the document.This concise report will inform of the significant changes and new items to be found in Manual #74 when it is in the near future.
