Lateral-Torsion Buckling of Parabolic Arches

Equations were derived which govern the lateral-torsional buckling of parabolic arches. Buckling loads were obtained for a uniform applied loading. Both free-standing and crown restrained arches with fixed and hinged end support were considered. A comparison was made, wherever possible, between some of the buckling loads calculated and existing theoretical and experimental loads. Good agreement was evidenced.
