Abstract:

With the economic expansion, population growth, the high rate of household formation and population dispersion in Singapore, the number of daily trips made is expected to increase. To meet this rising travel demand, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) strategy is to rely on public transport to allow masses of people to travel efficiently and minimize road congestion. With the advances in technology in telecommunication and computers, it will be possible to realize the aspiration with the use of technology in the various public transportation systems. This paper provides an insight on the use of technology in the various public transportation systems.
