Part of: Urban Public Transportation Systems: Implementing Efficient Urban Transit Systems and Enhancing Transit Usage

Abstract:

Transportation is becoming an extremely costly undertaking, with large new highways and non-bus transit alternatives costing in the billions of dollars. However, it appears that to most of the public, transportation is akin to the weather -much to be said, little to be done. Unless and until a specific project interferes with a particular individual's or community's normal existence, the public seems to merely accept increasing congestion and proceed with their lives, grumbling, but taking no proactive stance.
