Abstract:

Providing bus and rail service to over one million boardings each day is not an easy task, yet it is accomplished each day in Los Angeles County (County). In fact, Los Angeles is one of the premier centers for innovative solutions developed and implemented in all sectors of transportation. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Agency (MTA) has made considerable progress in developing solutions with the help of several agencies. This paper discusses various techniques and programs developed by MTA and its partners in improving the transportation system.
