Abstract:
Geofoam, the generic name for block or low density cellular plastic foam solids used in geotechnical applications, has low density and good insulation properties, which makes it well suited as strong, lightweight fill or as foundation insulation. Geofoam blocks and boards have been used successfully in U.S. highway, railroad, bridge, airport runway and building construction projects.
