Abstract:

The authors present a plan for giving successful presentations and suggest that presenters need to be more aware of presentation style and more scrupulous about chosing, crafting and honing presentation material. The authors suggest that presentations should be treated as a performance and outline 10 tips for giving a successful presentation. The article emphasizes preparation, which involves knowing your audience, subject matter and the layout of the presentation room as a key element in successful presentations. The article also addresses appearance, eye contact, and strong beginnings and endings. The authors conclude by discussing techniques that can build a team atmosphere and ease the tension of group presentations.
