Abstract: This proceedings, Grouting: Compaction, Remediation and Testing contains case studies, field and laboratory studies related to grouting materials and related technologies. Papers on compaction grouting discussed areas such as: 1) Reviews on mechanisms; 2)the state of the practice; 3)theories; 4)grouting program for remediating a highway; and 5)effect of fines in compaction grouts. Remediation grouting papers included such topics as: 1) Radioactive waste trench grouting, 2)stabilizing tall building, 3)monitoring systems, 4)mine subsidence, 5)cement grouting of dam joints and 6) restoration of masonry structures. There are several papers on testing grouts and grouted soil with discussion on currently available standard testing procedures. Papers on materials and testing explored strain rate effects on grouted sand strength, ultrafine cement grout, cellular grout, general concept and case studies on particulate grouts, silica fume modified grouts, injectability of cement in fine sand, shrinkage and swelling in polymeric grouts and grouted sands, and permeability and strength of urethane grouted sand.
