Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: North American Water and Environment Congress & Destructive Water

Abstract:

The Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District uses radial gates for flow control throughout its system. The rating tables for five radial gates on a diversion dam are in error, and the district is in the process of correcting them. The new tables were arrived at by comparison to previous model studies and field measurements (Toch, 1955, and WES, 1977), The new tables will be compared to field data at the dam over the next few years, and if adequate, the method may be applied to other radial gates in the system.
