Abstract:
The Texas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is currently one of the largest Sections in the Society. Similarly, the Houston Branch is one of the two largest Branches in the U.S. and is larger than 59 of the 65 Sections in ASCE. The backbone of both the Texas Section and the Houston Branch activities is their respective technical committee structure. The water resources technical committees at the section and branch levels in Texas have served to organize technical presentations, sponsor seminars and review local and state water-related policies. These committees actively promote the dissemination of water resources information in Texas and provide sound leadership training for members. subsequent involvement in both local and National ASCE.
