Abstract:

This study focuses on the numerical solution of the integral form of transport equation on unstructured grids. The algorithm is developed in direct finite volume concept and constructed on arbitrary meshes. The cell-centered scheme is chosen in meeting the conservation law, and the explicit scheme has been addpted in solving the numerical linear system. An example of groundwater contaminant transport simulation of continuous line input on simple geometry is presented. The comparison with different unstructured grid resolutions, and the comparison with the solution obtained by solving PDB in a finite difference method on structured grids are presented as well.
