Abstract:

Due to stochastic nature of rivers, their volumetric yields are random variables. Spatial and temporal redistribution of Water makes the reservoir construction a must. Therefore, water resources management depends on the management of the related storage reservoirs. In this research a mathematical model is developed to simultaneously optimize the storage capacity of a reservoir along with its operation. Reservoir design has an interaction with the assumed operation rule and its disintegration is not justified Therefore a set of optimization equations must be developed and solved simultaneously.
