Abstract:

A dimensionless formulation of a gate.stroking model is being used to study general characteristics of control measures that need to be applied upstream in single.pool canal systems to satisfy specified changes in downstream demand. Simulations are being conducted under a wide range of conditions with the objective of better understanding the limitations of anticipatory control. The types of relationships being studied are illustrated with an example.
