Abstract:

High-shear, medium-shear, and low-shear mixing tests were conducted on paste and paste + fly-ash mixes: The specimens, cured for 28-days, were tested for free water generation, compressive strength, and leachability potential. For both mixes, high-shear and medium-shear mixing produced a superior waste form, high-shear being best for the paste + fly-ash mixes and medium-shear being best for the paste mixes.
