Abstract:

l-D canal routing module has been developed to perform the operation of controlled structures for regulating flow in the canal network system and incorporated in the Three-Dimensional Finite Element Model of Density-Dependent Flow and Transport Through Saturated-Unsaturated Media (FEMWATER) (Yeh et al., 1994). An algorithm of computing fluxes exchange along the boundary between canal and surficial aquifer has been incorporated into the module. The 1-D flow routing module is employed by water budget under the assumption that each routing reach has same water level at each computational time step.
