Abstract: These proceedings, Water Resources Engineering, contains papers that were presented at the First International Conference on Water Resources Engineering in San Antonio, Texas, August 14-18, 1995. Beginning in 1995, the annual conferences of the Hydraulic and Irrigation and Drainage Divisions have combined to become the International Water Resources Engineering Conference. The objective of the Conference is to provide an annual forum for discussion and exchange of information on the broad spectrum of important issues in Water Resources Engineering. The themes discussed in this proceedings are: 1) new methodology of hydraulic engineering; 2) new directions for hydraulic research; 3) disaster hazard reduction; 4) groundwater; 5) sedimentation; 6) hydraulic data acquisition and display; 6) innovative hydraulic structures; 7) wetlands mitigation/sedimentation; 8) environmental hydraulics; 9) stream restoration; 10) optimization of water resource systems; 11) water quality enhancement technology; 12) irrigation and marginal reclaimed water; 13) 3D free surface modeling; 14) flow forecasting under uncertainties; 15) irrigation efficiency and uniformity; and 16) theory, numerical modeling, and numerical analysis of flow in steep channels.
