Abstract:

In July of 1993, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Base St. Louis facility was flooded. As the flood waters receded and cleanup efforts were initiated, a number of environmental issues had to be addressed. This paper presents some of the environmental and health concerns that were identified and the measures taken to evaluate and clean up potential hazards.
