Abstract:

water in a suitable aquifer, the peak time capacity of CWSD could be increased while delaying the water treatment plant (WTP) expansion currently scheduled for 1996. To validate this assumption, as ASR demonstration test designed to evaluate the feasibility of ASR technology for CWSD was performed. The demonstration test evaluated the feasibility of storing water in underground aquifers to help meet projected future demand at CWSD. The results of the demonstration indicate that ASR is feasible for CWSD, and a full-scale project is now planned.
