Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Water Policy and Management: Solving the Problems

Abstract:

Mass balance of historic and predicted total basin supplies to Lake Ontario forms the basis of an Expert Systems model constrained by interest satisfaction (IS) relationships. The IS Model is compared to the current regulation plan, Plan 1958-D (58D); a rule curve approach which has been used to regulate Lake Ontario levels since 1963. Study results indicate that the IS Model is a viable alternative to the present plan.
