Spatial Structures Erected out of Thin Shell Elements Fabricated on Plane Followed by Bending

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Spatial, Lattice and Tension Structures

Abstract:

The paper offers the examples of spatial structures of average spans (up to 24 m) and engineering structures made of prefabricated curvilinear elements originally having a plane form. The plate bending is possible when the concrete is mature and when it is coming fresh on a flexible form-work immediately after manufacturing. Laboratory tests on models have proved high rigidity and strength of such structures.
