Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Spatial, Lattice and Tension Structures

Abstract:

Several fundamental aspects of space frames which are sometimes referred to as latticed structures are discussed. Terminology of the structural system is first considered. Special features of the structure in contrast to the other type of structural system, plane structure, are studied. Advantages and problems of the structural system are discussed. Constructional aspects of space frames are treated as one of the most important features of space frames. A patented structural system named Pantadome System is presented as a method to solve the constructional problems of space frames.
