Abstract:

The main purpose of this study is to compare a physical model of a shell roof with a theoretical model of the same shell roof in order to verify the reliability of the Homeostatic Model Technique as a tool for the design of structural shapes. The first model is generated by the HMT while the second is determined following the Korda's theory and methodology. The analysis is performed from the geometrical and mechanical points of view, comparing shapes and structural behaviours. Diagrams and a photograph illustrate and synthesize results.
