Abstract:

Structural systems that have large inextentional deformation, or in other words, deformation without stain are called 'Unstable Structural Systems.' They include cable structures, membrane structures and movable structures such as foldable space structures and etc. This paper presents a method for the dynamic analysis of unstable structural systems with prescribed velocities. In order to examine the validity of the present method, two illustrative examples are numerically analyzed.
