Abstract:

One can not think contemporary structure designed without consciously complying with optimization methods. Creative activity of engineers have to be optimal or semi-optimal. It is necessary to be in search of optimal solutions of: subsequent stages of investigations, designing process, cost of the structure, technological process as well as others values which have influence upon quality, reliability, functionality aesthetic as well as material and energy consumptions. Authors discuss some problems of optimization of the space grid structures. The problems which ones among well known methods of optimization are more helpful in spatial grid structure designing: continuous or discrete, linear or nonlinear, single or multicriteria and one or multilevel are considered. The paper is illustrated with results of exemplary structural optimization of above mentioned structures realized in compliance with methods discussed.
