Abstract:

Final design, right-of-way acquisition and construction of two extensions to the existing Downtown Miami Automated People Mover, known as the Metromover, began in September 1989. Millions of dollars in right-of-way acquisition and utility relocations were saved as a result of alignment refinements, utility exploration and accompanying foundation designs. Both extensions will open for revenue service in March 1994.
