Abstract:

Background is provided on a computer model that simulates operation of a Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system. A description is given of how the PRT model is constructed of track segments that compose a complex network with many off-line stations. Discrete vehicles are modelled on the network, with vehicles in service operating under `destination coded' supervisory control and those not in service operating under `empty/spare vehicle management' controls.
