Abstract:

The development of new public transport concepts for urban areas has to be related to problems in this field. Therefore on the one hand in a systematic way an inventory is made of the different transport functions in urban areas. On the other hand an inventory is made of different public transport systems for urban areas from a point of view of technological aspects and service elements. By combining these two inventories, an analysis is made of useful and less useful developments.
