Digital Image Processing and Analysis in Materials Science (Keynote Lecture)

by Eddie B. Prestridge, Princeton Gamma Tech, Princeton, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Digital Image Processing: Techniques and Applications in Civil Engineering

Abstract:

This discussion presents a generic overview of computer aided imaging in materials science. Some of the questions to be answered are: Does the computer perceive the same things that I do? Pixels, what are they and how big are they? What is the meaning of resolution to a digital imaging system? Image processing or image analysis, is there a difference?
