Abstract:

The AGWATER computer program is an interactive learning, teaching, and pre-season evaluation tool regarding agricultural irrigation. It combines the concepts of irrigation scheduling, distribution uniformity, and off-peak electrical power usage. The program, funded by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and the California Dept. of Water Resources, was developed at the Irrigation Training and Research Center (ITRC) at Cal Poly. It is utilized by approximately sixty irrigation districts in California as a Best Management Practice.
