Abstract:

This paper presents an innovative technology, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), that is capable of increasing the efficiency of existing irrigation water supply systems. An analysis demonstrates how ASR technology can be optimized to provide maximum water availability given the hydrologic characteristics and existing infrastructure of a particular site. The benefits and cost-effectiveness of this application are also discussed.
