Abstract:

Sophisticated new computer tools were applied to develop a water management plan for Nassau County, Long Island. A regional groundwater flow model and two 3-dimensional saltwater intrusion models were used for the aquifer analysis. A computerized multi-criteria evaluation program was used to integrate model results and field data into management options, and to evaluate those options.
