Abstract:

Experiments were conducted under artificial rainfall on Portland cement concrete (PCC) surfaces with variable mean texture depths (MTD) and slopes (S). Rain rates were varied up to 3 in/hr and a regression analysis of the measured sheet flow depths was combined with kinematic wave theory in order to define Manning's n. Results appear to indicate that n is inversely proportional to Reynold's number to an exponent other than one (1).
