Abstract:

In this paper, first, it explains about the real time flood forecast which must be conducted at rivers in Japan. Next, as a means to an end, it is proposing the utilization of runoff computation method which is on the basis of runoff model of highly precise distributed system. This method seeks the discharge-storage relation for channel by both using hydrological and hydraulic way. It closely approximates a segments line to the curved discharge-storage relation for channel. After that, it solves this relation and continuity equation simultaneously and conducts the computation of stream flow routing with relative rationality. After having Explained this way, it conducts a discussion of whether real time flood forecast of Japanese rivers can be actually done by this runoff computation method or not.
