Survey of GIS Applications in Surface Water Hydrology
byASCE Task Committee on GIS Applications in Surface Water Hydrology
Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Engineering Hydrology
Abstract:
Geographic information systems (GIS), computerized tools for management and manipulation of spatially referenced data, are increasingly being used for engineering analysis and design of surface water hydrologic systems. The ASCE task committee on 'Geographic Information Systems Applications in Surface Water Hydrology' conducted a questionnaire survey to identify the degree and type of use of these GIS technologies in engineering hydrology practice. This paper presents results of the survey.
