Abstract:

The development of Intelligent Vehicles Highway System (IVHS) technologies has expanded the opportunities for surveillance and instructions upon personal privacy. This paper briefly examines the constitutional, common law and statutory protections for privacy and information security. It includes a discussion of the issues involved in balancing the privacy interests of individuals and organizations against the public interest in access to information.
