Abstract:

This paper updates the description and analysis of coastal management strategies and institutional arrangements as practiced in Argentina at national, provincial and municipal levels. It evaluates coastal actions of governmental and non governmental institutions and organizations vis-a-vis national coastal resources and environments. Sensitive and fragile ecosystems like coastal lagoons and enclosed bays are the loci of diverse management and conservation strategies, concentrating many of the coastal efforts of the country.
