Abstract:

The Brazilian Coastal Management Program is presented in two distinct phases, starting from its introduction in the country. Technical aspects of the adopted methodology development are presented and evaluated until the present. Modifications in the federal government structure, giving raise to drastic changes on the attribution of some federal institutions have imposed to the original program severe constrains.
