Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to explore options for better managing the country's living coastal resources and to examine the lessons learned from the administration of existing coastal programs. A quick reading of the legislation that empowers the various agencies of the Federal government to address environmental problems within the coastal zone leaves one impressed with the comprehensiveness of the legislation.
