Abstract:

The Pavement Rehabilitation Analysis and Design Mentor (PARADIGM) is a prototype, microcomputer -based, integrated set of interacting expert systems and algorithmic models. This paper describes how the project-level results from PARADIGM that can be used to select the optimal set of rehabilitation and maintenance strategies over a network of segments when the next year's construction budget is constrained are discussed. The relative performance of each approach on a number of test cases is presented in the paper.
