Abstract:

The Federal Transit Administration, as part of the Advanced Public Transportation Systems program (a component of the Intelligent Vehicle-Highway Systems initiative), is conducting the evaluation of operational field tests of several different advanced technologies. Each evaluation will begin by identifying the objectives of all participants in the project. The evaluation will determine criteria and measurement techniques which best test the objectives, which will be incorporated into a data collection and analysis plan. The evaluation will include a thorough examination of all the relevant planning, operational, cost, institutional, and external impacts as they relate both to the agency or operator they affect directly and as they may affect other agencies and operators.
