Abstract:

A large guyed television tower owned by Television Tower Inc. of Baltimore is currently being analyzed in order to evaluate the capacity of the tower to support additional broadcasting equipment. This paper examines the computer analysis of the tower with emphasis on the use of both linear and nonlinear techniques to model and analyze the cable behavior of the tower support guys. Selected analysis results based on the two techniques are presented and compared.
