Numerical Analysis of Membrane Action in Hollow Core Floors

The emphasis of the investigation is on the diaphragm action of precast floor structures. In order to improve existing manual calculation methods a parameter study has been carried out using the finite element method computer package DIANA. In this contribution the modelling of the floors, boundary conditions and some results are described.
